| Welcome |

Thank you for visiting my website - my name is Jules and I use she/they - ella/elle pronouns.  I am a daughter, sibling, niece, cousin, partner, dog-parent, community member, organizer, activist and Earth being.  I am trained as a trauma psychotherapist and clinical social worker, and since 2011 have worked in a community based program in the field of domestic violence/intimate partner violence with the intersection of disability.  I also work as a trainer, facilitator and consultant for A Call To Men, MPG Consulting and Respectful Confrontation (please view my resources page for more info).  My life and work practice is deeply influenced by Black radical politics and tradition, Black liberation psychology, Critical Race Theory as well as ancient and traditional healing wisdoms.

In my practice I hold space for a variety of people, topics and vibrations.  In my mind, heart, body, spirit and core, I value bringing social/healing justice, abolition and liberation perspectives to movement and aspire to consider the ways trauma, historical contexts, power, oppression, bias, privilege, access, diversity, equity, belonging and inclusion are in the mix with us in our life journey.  Connected to the intersectional identities of the people I hold space for, aspects of my own identities and social locations inform a commitment to provide therapy, consultation and workshop facilitation infused with compassion, curiosity and courageousness.

Guided by these elements and also the wisdoms and principles of those who came before me, and whom I continue to learn from, I see healing as a journey and dedication that each person extends towards parts of themselves, their ancestors, and their respective communities.  In cultivating and nurturing this, we have an opportunity to collaborate towards a deeper presence, awareness, balance and flow.

When we speak we are afraid our words will not be heard or welcomed.  But when we are silent we are still afraid.  So it is better to speak.

For people interested in working with me in my practice, I offer an initial 20 minute phone or zoom call that is free of charge.  This gives us the opportunity to get a sense of one another to see if working together is a good fit. The initial full consultation session is the same rate as regular sessions.

There are some areas and topics I hold additional training, speciality and focus, including: anti-violence (intimate partner, gender-based, family violence, sexual assault), culture & racialized identity (racism & injected/internalized racial oppression, anti-blackness, colonization, white supremacy culture), gender identity & sexual orientation (LGBQ, Trans, GNC, Non-Binary), nuerodiversity, disability & accessibility, consensual non-monogamy & polyamory, Respectful Confrontation method & martial arts (tai chi, judo).

For interest in booking a workshop or training please reach out and we can set up a 20 minute consultation to discuss what you are wishing and if I can deliver on those wishes. Topics I often facilitate include racial & gender justice, coloniality, domestic violence, trauma & disability, and embodied practices towards system and personal healing.

| INSURANCE & CANCELLATIONS |

Navigating
Cancellation & Missed Session Agreement
If we decide to schedule regular sessions, the fee we agree upon holds that time.  If for any reason you are unable to make your session please let me know by emailing, calling, or texting.  There will be no charge for any cancellations or changes made 48 hours (2 days) in advance of your session.  When prior notification is not given there will be a charge of the regular fee.

Insurance & Payment
I take certain insurance and am an out-of-network provider mostly.  If you will be using your insurance company I suggest you contact them before meeting with me to get information about your benefits.
Questions to ask your insurance:
Do I have mental health benefits?
Do I have a deductible?
How many mental health sessions per year does my plan cover?
How much does my plan cover?
How do I receive reimbursement?

My session rates aspire to be grounded in an equitable, anti-capitalism framework.  I encourage negotiation towards a fee agreement which makes our work together sustainable.  That exchange rate may increase yearly with standard federal cost of living adjustment rates (COLA).  Venmo, Paypal, Zelle, checks and cash are all acceptable forms of payment.

Any additional thoughts, feelings, ideas, concerns and questions are always welcome.
